Michael Labout, a COLORADO REALTOR® from Colorado Springs, Colo., was the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS® Vice President.

A REALTOR® for more than 30 years, Michael is a Branch Broker and active REALTOR® at ERA Shields Real Estate, specializing in residential properties. He holds designations from the Council of Residential Specialists (CRS®) and is a Graduate from the REALTOR® Institute (GRI). He is also a certified e-PRO®, International Property Specialist (CIPS®) and has received the Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) Endorsement from the National Association of REALTORS® .

A member of the REALTORS® Land Institute, (RLI), members specializing in Ranch properties, Land and Farms all over the U.S.

He has been involved in NAR for over three decades, served on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, the National Leadership Team, multiple Presidential Advisory Group’s and Committees for Nominating, Political Communications, RPAC, Goverance Policy, Meetings & Conference, Professional Standards, Commitment to Excellence, Code of Ethics, Leadership Identification and Development, etc. He is a 2009 graduate of the NAR Leadership Academy. He was the Regional Vice President for Region 11 in 2012 representing the Rocky Mountain Region states of Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico & Wyoming.

With the Colorado Association of REALTORS®, Michael has served as State President in 2006, the Leadership Team, the Leadership Council and a life member on the Board of Directors. He has been Treasurer in 2003 and 2004 and chaired or served on dozens of Committees including Technology, Finance, RPAC, etc. He was recognized in 2009 as the Colorado REALTOR® of the Year.

Locally, the Pikes Peak Association of REALTORS® elected him their president in 2001. He was recognized in 2007 as the REALTOR® of the Year and served on the Board of Directors. He chaired committees on Public Relations, Marketing, Political Activity, and the Housing Opportunity Foundation, which promotes safe, decent, and affordable housing in Colorado.

Active in his community, Labout gives his time to numerous civic and charitable organizations. With his wife of 30+ years, Laurie, both are actively involved in the United States Air Force Academy Cadet Sponsorship Program with several cadets currently and others serving our country in the Air Force all over the world. He is from a large family with dozens of nieces and nephews and their children.
